To date, efforts have been driven by a small, dedicated team made up of staff from a Consortium consisting of Danish Refugee Council (Denmark), AFFORD (UK), and the Berghof Foundation (Germany) to improve diaspora emergency response capacity and coordination with the formal humanitarian system. The consortium partners pooled a wide range of expertise, capacities and networks.

Each partner was working with a specific diaspora community in their respective country and in Europe: AFFORD is working with the Nigerian and Sierra Leonean Diaspora, Berghof Foundation with the Syrian Diaspora, and DRC with the Somali and Afghan Diaspora.

The partners are now seeking strategic partnerships to join DEMAC and pooled funds opportunities to continue financing the core activities of the platform.
