
Diaspora Coordination Meeting: Flood Response in Somalia
DEMAC, IOM, and GSD are hosting bi-weekly coordination meetings for diaspora responding to needs following the Deyr rainy season floods in Somalia. Meetings focus on recovery of the floods as well as longer term needs and priorities as identified by the coordination group. The next coordination meeting for Somali diaspora will take place on Saturday, February 24th, at 18.00 CET.

Some key updates from the previous coordination meeting are listed below:
- There were updates on Lower Shabelle's flood response, AWD outbreak, and the 2024 HNRP.
- During a peer-to-peer presentation Pakistani diaspora guests shared successful small-scale flood efforts in Pakistan, emphasizing transparency, coordination, and community participation.
- Diaspora organisations presented ongoing projects in education, resilience, livelihood, and mental health recovery.
